Vision Statement

Providing resources to low income communities and citizens within the state of Illinois.

Mission Statement

We strive to meet the needs of communities throughout illinois through the relief of the poor, the distressed, and the underprivileged by providing programs for the advancement of education; preventing hunger; and preventing cruelty to children.

Our Programs

Feed The Needy Program

MWPHGL of IL started the Feed the Needy program to feed families across Illinois. During Thanksgivings and Christmas Holidays the MWPHGL of IL has provided food baskets for the community and prepared and served dinners to over 2,000 families throughout Illinois.

Distressed families and individuals often turn to the community to provide resources when they are struggling to meet basic needs to survive. Shelters are often times over crowded and many families are cutting back because of the rising costs of groceries. It has become for many families increasingly hard to meet their family’s basic need of food at all times during the year but more especially during the Holiday Season when food is one of the essential parts of holiday family gatherings.

Academic Advancement Programs

MWPHGL of IL recognized this challenge and started this program to provide academic scholarships for high school graduating seniors and returning college students as well as sponsor back-to-school supply drives for students. In the past MWPHGLIL awarded $35,000 in scholarships plus various schools supplies to deserving students.

Funding college education is becoming extremely difficult task during today’s economic climate. Students increasingly want to go to college but families don’t have the necessary financial resources to help with the growing higher educational expenses. Due to rising costs of unemployment and lack of community funding, families are finding it challenging to purchase school supplies to help their student(s) be successful.

IL CHIP Programs

There is increasing need to protect our children in the community from abduction or being lost. The CHIP program provides the police with various child characteristics such as a current still photo, video, fingerprinting, and DNA. This also provides police with vital information. Children in families need the safety and protection that this program can provide.

MWPHGL of IL has successfully met the challenges of protecting our children by administering the Illinois Child ID Program throughout the State of Illinois. IL CHIP is one of the most comprehensive child identification programs currently available to our communities.
